The Power of HDR Video in a live-show broadcast context
With HDR video being a ever present theme in the media technology world, we are trying to provide a scientific basis for future HDR research. As a group of graduate students from Stuttgart Media University, we produced a reference HDR PQ data set that is available for download for research purposes. Please note that attribution is required when using our data set. The files are available for download.

It was a real honour for the research team to present our paper "Exploring workflows for Realtime HDR-SDR-conversion" at the SMPTE Media Technology Summit 2023 in Hollywood, California. India and Justus, who spoke for the research group at the HDR panel session on Monday, October 15th, layed out technical details behind the chosen tonemapping approaches that were compared and highlighted the most significant results that appeared during research, illustrated by specific stills from the data set.

In March 2023, the team presented their HDR data set with the talk "Illuminating Your Images: The Power of HDR Video" at the Visual Media Lab Conference by Stuttgart Media University. Among international speakers, the group highlighted the importance of acessible testing data to validate workflows and illustrate research insights.
